Product description
Trioctyl Trimellitate (TOTM) is a high molecular weight, branched plasticizer used for PVC applications in which the end-use requires extreme low volatility. Such applications can include vinyl automotive interior or molded parts, dishwasher gaskets, seals, and telephone wire. A stabilizer can be added to TOTM, making it useful in electrical or cable & wire applications. TOTM also works well in blends with other plasticizers with low-volatility including DUP or DOTP.
As a lubricant ester, TOTM can be utilized as a API category Group V basefluid or additive. Its properties make it useful in high temperature applications which require high viscosity, oxidative stability, along with good solvency and lubricating properties. Such applications include engine oils, compressor oils, high-temperature chain oils, and greases.
TOTM Plasticizer (Tris (2-Ethylhexyl) Trimellitate) is the ideal PVC plasticizer for use in applications where low volatility is of supreme importance. These applications include wire and cable insulation (TOTM-CA) and interior automotive. TOTM plasticizer has unique low migration properties and extraction resistance properties that are required for dishwasher gaskets and photograph storage. In some cases, TOTM plasticizer is blended with other general purpose plasticizers such as DUP or DOTP to lower volatility.
